COSINE Tier-1 distributor Jarwey|36V zero-drift COS2180SRA vs 50 µV COS1177SR
Jarwey is a COSINE Tier-1 distributor and can help with the shortlist, the datasheet, samples, small lots, and lead time.
A 24 V sensor board can show GBP 2 MHz on two different op-amp pages. The bandwidth line matches. The error budget does not. COS2180SRA is the dual 36V zero-drift op amp, and its function line stops at GBP 2 MHz. COS1177SR is the single 36V precision op amp, and that page states Vos max 50 µV and drift of 0.2 µV/°C. Split the error first.
The 36V zero-drift family table already lists channels, noise, and quiescent current. The 5 V battery ladder, the 1/2/4-channel 2 MHz matrix, and the 0.7 / 3.0 / 10 V/µs slew note each have their own page. This note uses only sentences printed on these two product pages.
Both pages say to request the datasheet. Request it from Jarwey.
Both pages say 2 MHz. The stated error does not match
| Read this first | COS2180SRA | COS1177SR |
|---|---|---|
| Page name | Dual 36V zero-drift op amp | 36V 2 MHz precision op amp, single |
| Function line | 36V zero-drift, GBP 2 MHz. The page does not mark that 2 MHz as typical or maximum | Single 36V precision op amp, GBP 2 MHz, Vos max 50 µV, drift 0.2 µV/°C |
| Other electricals on the page | The function line has no microvolt offset, drift, slew, noise density, or quiescent current, and it does not print a 4.5–36 V window | Supply 4.5–36 V (±2.25 to ±18 V), slew 0.7 V/µs, noise 8 nV/√Hz at 1 kHz, Iq 0.33 mA |
| Package / channels | SOP-8, dual | SOP-8, single |
| Applications on the page | Current sense, wearables, sensor gain, battery-powered hardware | Sensor gain, medical instruments, industrial control |
| Search anchors (verify on the board) | OPA2180 / OPA2188 | OP1177 / OPA277 |
| Product page | 929 | 1013 |
Both pages say 36V and 2 MHz, and both packages are SOP-8. The channel count differs, so the pin picture differs. Matching package names do not make a drop-in. OPA2180, OPA2188, OP1177, and OPA277 are search anchors only. Verify them on the board.
Close the zero-drift offset from the datasheet. The published 36V zero-drift family note already carries the catalog row for Vos, drift, noise, and current per channel. Leave that table there. Do not paste its microvolt figure onto COS1177SR, and do not paste 50 µV onto COS2180SRA.
Split the error before the bandwidth
When the sensor needs zero-drift and the page has not printed a microvolt number, start at COS2180SRA and ask Jarwey for the datasheet. Check offset, drift, and input range there. When 50 µV, 0.2 µV/°C, 8 nV/√Hz at 1 kHz, 0.33 mA, and 0.7 V/µs are already on the page and that budget is enough, start at COS1177SR. That page calls the part a precision op amp. It does not call it zero-drift.
On a 5 V battery rail, use the published 5 V zero-drift bandwidth ladder. The COS2180SRA page lists wearables and battery hardware, and it does not print a minimum supply. The application words alone do not make it the 5 V zero-drift part.
Inside the zero-drift row, the page that moves GBP from 2 MHz to 5 MHz is COS2182SR. It is also a dual 36V zero-drift op amp in SOP-8. The function line says GBP 5 MHz. The search anchors are OPA2182 / OPA2180, and they still need a board check. That step changes the printed GBP. It does not rename the 50 µV of COS1177SR.
For a dual with the same precision figures the page ties to COS1177, see COS2177SR (SOP-8). The quad sits in the published 2 MHz channel note. A slew of 3.0 V/µs or 10 V/µs belongs in the published slew note, not as an upgrade of the 50 µV row.
When the input has to sit on the supply rail, use the published 40 V RRIO note. The COS1177SR page does not describe the input range as rail-to-rail.
Checklist
- Supply domain. Use this pair when the board is on a 12/24 V field rail or a ±15 V class rail. A battery sensor inside 5.5 V belongs on the 5 V zero-drift ladder.
- Error type. For zero-drift, enter at COS2180SRA and take the offset from the datasheet Jarwey sends. Take 50 µV and 0.2 µV/°C only from the line already printed on the COS1177SR page.
- Same GBP line. Both pages say 2 MHz, and neither function line marks typical or maximum. A matched bandwidth is not a matched error.
- Dynamics the page already gives. Slew 0.7 V/µs, noise 8 nV/√Hz at 1 kHz, and Iq 0.33 mA are on COS1177SR. The COS2180SRA function line does not carry those three.
- 5 MHz inside zero-drift. Read the COS2182SR page. Noise and quiescent current stay in the family note.
- Package. Both are SOP-8. COS2180SRA is dual. COS1177SR is single. Check the pins separately.
- Samples. Request the datasheet from Jarwey. Measure offset across the real source impedance and temperature, then freeze the production part number.
