COSINE Tier-1 distributor Jarwey|Motor feedback op amps: Hall, bridge, and shunt

Jarwey is a COSINE Tier-1 distributor and can support selection, datasheets, samples, small lots, and lead time.

A servo or industrial drive rarely has one “feedback op amp.” Hall or encoder buffers, millivolt bridge position, and shunt current land on the same board with different common-mode, offset, and gain problems. Split those three jobs before opening a part page.

Datasheets: contact Jarwey. This note is a routing table. Gain ladders for shunt monitors, the 36V zero-drift family, the COS4177SR servo current note, and the COS620 instrumentation comparison already exist—do not treat the rows below as a second copy of those tables.

Bus-voltage monitoring is a supply-sense job, not one of the three feedback chains. Use a divider and a reference. Do not ask an op amp to be the reference.

INA129, AD620, INA180, MCP6002, and OPA4277 are anchors for evaluation only. Same package is not a drop-in. Check the datasheet and measure the board.

Checklist before you pick

  1. Name the job: Hall or encoder buffer, bridge position, or shunt current. One chain, one device class.
  2. Hall already inside the ADC span? Buffer and anti-alias with COS6002SR. Do not build a millivolt bridge diff-amp out of it.
  3. Position bridge: set gain and REF from the COS620BRZ datasheet and keep common-mode inside the supply.
  4. 5V-side shunt: if common-mode stays inside −0.3 to 25 V and supply stays within 5.5 V, use COSINA180A2 at 50 V/V. Full scale is shunt voltage times 50—confirm it does not clip.
  5. Higher bus or drift-dominated error: open COS2180SRA (36V zero-drift, 2 MHz GBP). Do not hang a 5V zero-drift part on the high bus.
  6. Several high-voltage conditioning channels: open COS4177SR. If the error budget is thermal drift, move to COS2180SRA. Do not merge them into one family table.
  7. Samples: request the datasheet, samples, and a small lot from Jarwey. Measure offset, common-mode margin, gain error, and temperature rise before the production order.
