COSINE Tier-1 distributor Jarwey|High-current LDO input: the page says 5–40 V, the datasheet recommends 26 V

Jarwey is a COSINE Tier-1 distributor and can help with the shortlist, the datasheet, samples, small lots, and the delivery date.

Three high-current adjustable LDO pages print the same input line. COS29152WU, COS29302, and COS29502WU each say Vin 5–40 V, 1.24 V adjustable feedback, and a TO-263-5 package. Each of those pages says to request the datasheet; none of them hosts a PDF. COS29752WU leaves Vin and the 1.24 V line off the function text. That page hosts the family file COS29752WU.pdf, header COS2915X/2930X/2950X/2975X, marked Rev1.3.

The 5–40 V line is an envelope on the page. The same datasheet splits the input into three statements. The feature list says 4–36 V. Recommended operating conditions say +4.5 V to +26 V. Absolute maximum ratings list VIN at −0.3 V to +40 V. The application note says the over-voltage sensor disables the regulator when the input rises past about 36 V, and it treats a spike between −0.3 V and +40 V as survival, not as a DC bias. The electrical table is also written for VIN up to 26 V. A 40 V number belongs in the absolute-max and transient lines.

The 1.5 A / 3 A / 5 A / 7.5 A current ladder is already in the family article. The MIC29302 and MIC29752 checklists, and the dropout heat split against COS3842BD, stay there. The 1.24 V printed on the three pages matches the datasheet reference, 1.24 V typical (1.22 V min, 1.252 V max). The input line is the row that does not match.

The COS29752WU page has no Vin cell. Use the PDF on that page for all four parts. In the datasheet order table, TO-263-5 maps to COS29152WU, COS29302WU, COS29502WU, and COS29752WU. The live COS29302 page omits the WU letters; the package field is still TO-263-5, so the order code is COS29302WU. The datasheet also lists COS29152WD in TO-252-5. Page 983 is the TO-263-5 part COS29152WU.

Feedback and enable, only where the datasheet states them

Section 3.4 sets the adjustable output for COS29xx2 and COS29xx3 with R1 = R2 × (VOUT / 1.240 − 1), from about 1.25 V to 25 V. The resistor from VOUT to ADJ stays at or below 10 kΩ. All four page models end in 2. The datasheet puts EN on COS29xx2: logic high enables (2.4 V minimum), logic low shuts the part down (0.8 V maximum). FLG is on COS29xx3. None of the four product pages prints EN or FLG, so a flag pin does not get added from the page title.

Selection checklist

  1. Write three voltages: recommended +4.5 V to +26 V, feature list 4–36 V, absolute maximum −0.3 V to +40 V.
  2. The rail: keep continuous input inside 26 V. Treat a rise past about 36 V as over-voltage shutdown, and a spike to 40 V as transient survival.
  3. The 5–40 V line is on pages 983, 981, and 982. The COS29752WU function line does not carry it.
  4. Feedback: the three pages say 1.24 V adjustable. The datasheet reference is 1.24 V typical. Take the resistor equation and the 1.25 V to 25 V window from §3.4.
  5. Suffix: these four orderables are the xx2 versions. EN is on xx2; FLG is on xx3. Match the order code before the schematic adds a flag.
  6. Current: keep the published ladder. This note does not rebuild 1.5 / 3 / 5 / 7.5 A.
  7. Anchors and files: MIC29152, MIC29302, MIC29502, and MIC29752WWT still need a board check. Request the three missing datasheets from Jarwey. Use the Rev1.3 PDF on page 863, and confirm that revision with Jarwey before the BOM is frozen.
