BL-TRIAC module for leading/trailing-edge TRIAC dimming on CV/CC LED supplies

Jarwey 4 2026-09-05 09:22:10

In trailing-edge / leading-edge TRIAC dimming projects, the usual blockers are mixed dimmer protocols, different PWM needs for constant-voltage strips vs constant-current fixtures, deep-dim flicker, and turn-on surge. Jarwey’s BL-TRIAC is a compact project-based TRIAC dimming control module—not a catalog IC—that samples the TRIAC waveform, conditions it, runs a dimming curve in MCU firmware, and outputs PWM for smooth deep dimming with soft-start.

Customization available: dimming curve, PWM frequency tier, leading/trailing-edge sense logic, pin map, and OEM labeling—project-based; sampling and small batch welcome.

What the module does

Built for constant-voltage / constant-current LED supplies with leading-edge and trailing-edge TRIAC dimmers. Signal path: TRIAC sense → RC filter → op-amp conditioning → ADC → curve → PWM. Soft-start on power-up.

Panels / systems to evaluate with (must verify)

Examples listed for joint evaluation (not drop-in system replacement): Opple P068102, Panasonic WMY549, Legrand VRCM2, Siemens 5UH82223-NC01, Lutron QSGR-3P, Siemens 5WG1 528-1D801, Schneider L5504D2A, and similar leading/trailing-edge gear.

7-step checklist before you freeze the design

  1. Topology: CV strip/track vs CC fixture—pick the matching PWM frequency tier.
  2. Leading / trailing edge: field dimmer type vs SW sense logic (firmware customizable).
  3. Aux supply: safe 12–30 V rail for the module.
  4. PWM load: direct MOSFET drive vs post-driver; min brightness OK?
  5. Deep dim: flicker and soft-start meet visual targets?
  6. Non-standard protocol: need custom curve or pin map?
  7. Pilot: sample and small-batch prove-out with Jarwey before volume.

Why a small OEM module

  • Cost-effective path vs importing a full branded dimming appliance for the same job
  • Flexible delivery: firmware, interface, labeling, sampling & small batch
  • Project follow-up: selection, bring-up, lead-time coordination
