Synergy Tier-1 distributor Jarwey|Piezo and optical MEMS: SY2322 HV switch vs SY5817 pulser

Jarwey is a Synergy (Xinlijie) Tier-1 distributor and can help with selection, datasheets, samples, small lots, and lead time.

Optical MEMS modules and piezoelectric actuators are capacitive loads. Split the board question before picking a part number: who creates the high-voltage edge, and who only steers an existing 0 to ±100 V node onto a second capacitor. SY5817 is the eight-channel pulser. SY2322 is the 32-channel 1:2 HV analog switch. Both datasheets list optical MEMS and piezoelectric drive, and both sit in a 9×9 mm QFN, but they are not interchangeable.

This note does not redo the 32-channel MUX versus SPST supply split, and it does not redo the portable multi-device SY5817 note. Figures below are from the public datasheets; lock the BOM to the current PDF and to bench data.

An imaging aperture that still expects bipolar switch rails (the SY2320 example is about +60 V/−60 V) belongs on SY2320FN. The 16-channel bleed-versus-clamp note for SY2162QF is a different part: SY2162QF clamp or 40 kΩ bleed. The residual-voltage items below are only for SY2322 on a capacitive actuator.

Three checks on a capacitive load

  • Voltage window: keep the actuator inside 0 to ±100 V. Outside that window, neither part is a fit.
  • Current: check C·dV/dt against SY5817’s ±2 A peak. SY2322 has no pulse-current rating; its loss sits in the ~8 Ω on-resistance.
  • Residual voltage: SWx is the probe/actuator side and carries the 40 kΩ bleed plus a CSW-controlled GND clamp. At VLL=3.3 V and VDD=5 V the datasheet lists a 10 µs minimum CSW width and 2 µs typ / 5 µs max on and off. The 50 Ω VSPK figure (typ 40 mV at turn-on, CSW=0) does not transfer to a high-impedance MEMS node.

Selection checklist

  1. Role: SY5817 creates the edge; SY2322 steers an edge that already exists.
  2. Rails: SY2322 wants +5 V (VDD) plus 1.8–5 V logic. Do not copy a SY2320 ±HV switch supply onto it. SY5817’s output stage still needs HV rails.
  3. Topology: SY2322 is a 1:2 mux. Yxx faces the AFE; SWx faces the probe or actuator. It is not 32 independent SPST channels.
  4. Bleed vs clamp: pick 40 kΩ bleed or the CSW clamp from the discharge time constant and the allowed current into ground. Follow the datasheet timing.
  5. Isolation: −57 dB typ is at 5 MHz, 50 Ω, CSW=0. Re-measure if the MEMS frequency is far from that condition. Crosstalk is about −60 dB in the datasheet summary.
  6. Package: both are 64-pin 9×9 mm QFN. Pins, HV creepage, and the thermal pad are not the same, so the outline is not a drop-in.
  7. Samples: datasheets are on the product pages. If a download fails, ask Jarwey for the PDF, samples, and lead time.

Datasheet and contact

Send the incumbent HV mux or pulser part number, actuator capacitance, and target voltage to Jarwey. We can confirm datasheets, shortlist a second source, and arrange samples. Board validation is required before a production swap.
