On industrial control boards, telecom post-regulators, and many automotive auxiliary rails, a high-current LDO locked to Microchip MIC29302 (and peers such as MaxLinear SPX29302) is costly to redesign later. When lead time or cost moves, you need a practical second-source checklist—not another brochure.

Per the COSINE cross-reference, COS29302 (TO-263-5L) can be evaluated against MIC29302WU-TR. Request the datasheet from Jarwey; qualify on the bench before production.

Class split first: the same catalog also lists higher-current COS29752WU ↔ MIC29752. MIC29302 sits in the ~ampere-class high-current LDO pool—do not mix the two because the part numbers look similar.

Confirm the class: do you still need an MIC29302-class part?

MIC29302 is typical when a wider intermediate bus or adapter rail needs a fixed/adjustable low-voltage output at ampere-class current, with linear regulation for noise and simple passives. If you only need a mA-class precision LDO, or a switching high-efficiency POL, do not force this class. If continuous current approaches the MIC29752 class, evaluate COS29752WU instead.
