Synergy Tier-1 distributor Jarwey|SY2160 vs SY2162QF: microamp standby or 10 mW on a 16-channel HV switch
Jarwey is a Synergy (Xinlijie) Tier-1 distributor for medical ultrasound ICs. We can help with shortlisting, datasheets, samples, and lead time.
SY2160 and SY2162QF are both 16-channel HV analog switches in a 48-lead LQFP, 7×7 mm, 0.50 mm pitch. The idle lines are not in the same unit. The SY2160 feature list states standby under 25 µA and a 20 MHz shift clock. The SY2162QF feature list states 10 mW and a 50 MHz shift clock. A handheld probe budget, or a 16-bit reload that must finish inside one line, splits on those two rows. Matching outlines do not make the power bill the same.
External HV rails versus a +5 V-only switch are already covered in the 16-channel supply note. The 40 kΩ bleed and clamp path on SY2162QF is in the bleed note. This page does not rebuild either table, and it does not redo the probe-shell milliwatt-per-area ledger.
Figures below are the feature-list lines in the two datasheets. The SY2160 PDF is marked preliminary. Use the electrical-table column order in the PDF when you copy a limit into a budget.
Convert the idle line, then check the clock
| What you are closing | SY2160 | SY2162QF |
|---|---|---|
| Idle specification | Feature list: under 25 µA. That is current. The electrical table has a quiescent VDD row in µA, with static logic inputs in the condition. | Feature list: 10 mW. That is power. The electrical table splits switches-off, switches-on, and dynamic current into separate rows, in mA. |
| Fair comparison | Do not subtract 25 from 10. Multiply the current row you actually selected by that row’s VDD, then compare with 10 mW. A different VDD changes the milliwatts. | |
| Shift clock | 20 MHz on the feature list. 3.3 V logic compatible. Recommended VDD 3.0–5.5 V. | 50 MHz on the feature list. 5 V CMOS. Recommended VDD about 4.7–5.25 V. |
| 16-bit floor | At a 20 MHz clock, shifting 16 bits takes about 0.8 µs. Latch width and daisy-chain gaps are extra. This is not a datasheet tLOAD. | Same arithmetic at 50 MHz is about 0.32 µs. LEB pulse width is a separate timing row. |
| Latch pin | Overview: keep LE high while shifting, then a low pulse loads the latch. | Overview uses LEB. Take polarity from that timing figure. Do not reuse the SY2160 LE polarity. |
| Off isolation at 5 MHz | Feature list: about −60 dB typical. | Feature list: −57 dB typical. Crosstalk is another row, about −60 dB. Do not substitute it for off isolation. |
| HV rails | External VPP/VNN. Overview example +60 V/−60 V. Recommended VPP is +40 V up to VNN+120 V; VNN is −40 V to −60 V. | +5 V only. The overview says no positive/negative HV supplies. Analog range 0 V to ±100 V. |
| Bleed | Feature list says integrated bleed only. Ohms sit in the electrical table. Do not copy 40 kΩ onto this part. | Feature list states 40 kΩ. Clamp switches are a second path; see the bleed note. |

HV2701-class and Hitachi ECN3297TF-class 16-channel switches are a reasonable place to start a shortlist. A cross-reference only chooses which parameters to measure. It is not an unverified drop-in. The SY2160 ordering table also shows a smaller body beside the 7×7 mm LQFP; check the order suffix before layout.
Seven checks before the BOM line
- Unit. If the battery sheet is in milliamp-hours, convert the SY2160 current at the VDD of that row before you place it next to the SY2162QF 10 mW line.
- Switch state. Static logic, all main switches off, and a 50 kHz toggle are different rows. Pick the row that matches standby.
- Line time. The 16-bit floor is about 0.8 µs at 20 MHz and about 0.32 µs at 50 MHz. Add latch width and any daisy chain before you call the clock done.
- Latch polarity. Draw SY2160 LE and SY2162QF LEB as separate nets. The wrong polarity lets the latch move while data is still shifting.
- Isolation. Put −60 dB and −57 dB into the 5 MHz receive budget separately. The crosstalk row near −60 dB is adjacent-channel coupling.
- Rails. SY2160 needs VPP and VNN on the board. SY2162QF does not get an extra HV pair. The shared 7×7 mm outline is not a mix-and-match footprint for the supplies.
- Bleed and samples. 40 kΩ belongs on the SY2162QF feature list only. Datasheets: SY2160, SY2162QF. Ask Jarwey for samples and lead time.
